Velocity Yellow C7 Corvette Z06

Swiss-Italian Instagrammer loves the good things in life, including his Velocity Yellow C7 Corvette Z06 named ‘Bumblebee.’

Every once in a while, we come across a few influencers on social media whose spirit fits in beautifully with us here at ChevroletForum. Thus, it’s only fair we introduce you to them on occasion, and explain why you should consider following them through your apps of choice.

Instagrammer Marco Solari (a.k.a., soluz) is a Swiss-Italian “Petrolhead ~JetSkier~Timepiece addict” who loves and enjoys the good things in life. As he says, sometimes he skis, sometimes he sails, and sometimes, he drives. And what does he drive? A Velocity Yellow C7 Corvette Z06 he’s named ‘Bumblebee.’

It’s not his first dance with a Corvette, of course. Among the European exotics Solari has owned and/or driven over the years, he’s also had a white C5-era Corvette Grand Sport convertible in his garage since at least September 5, 2011, the day it made its first appearance on his Instagram; his very first post was on July 31 of that year, over a year after the first-ever photo was posted to the app, then in its testing phase prior to its October 2010 launch.

Speaking of launches, Solari and his business partner Paul Woodman would launch the online car community Lovecars in mid-November of 2015, whose mission is to give its user base “an automotive social experience like no other.” Kinda like us, come to think of it.

A few months later, in April 2016, he began the first of his Merenderos on the Road road trips with a route from Brescia, Italy to Tellaro, Italy through the Swiss and French Alps, plus a stop in Monaco. It wouldn’t be too long before he’d lead his tours in a new Corvette, though.

July 20, 2017 will go down as the day Solari’s life changed forever, when he picked up from the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky his very own Velocity Yellow C7 Corvette Z06 with the Z07 performance package. As he said in his post that day, “This is the beginning of a new and unforgettable adventure.”

Since then, he’s put nearly 22,000 miles on the Z06’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8, travelling around Italy and southern Europe to many a ski resort, golden beach, and excellent road. He simply “can’t get enough of driving” his yellow ‘Vette. And we simply can’t enough of him enjoying one of the best sports cars in the world. We’ll be following him for sure (you should, too).

Cameron Aubernon's path to automotive journalism began in the early New '10s. Back then, a friend of hers thought she was an independent fashion blogger.

Aubernon wasn't, so she became one, covering fashion in her own way for the next few years.

From there, she's written for: Louisville.com/Louisville Magazine, Insider Louisville, The Voice-Tribune/The Voice, TOPS Louisville, Jeffersontown Magazine, Dispatches Europe, The Truth About Cars, Automotive News, Yahoo Autos, RideApart, Hagerty, and Street Trucks.

Aubernon also served as the editor-in-chief of a short-lived online society publication in Louisville, Kentucky, interned at the city's NPR affiliate, WFPL-FM, and was the de facto publicist-in-residence for a communal art space near the University of Louisville.

Aubernon is a member of the International Motor Press Association, and the Washington Automotive Press Association.
