Redditor Buys Chevy Pickup Bed Trailer For His Chevy Pickup

Conversations have a habit of taking on a life of their own on the Internet. That’s especially the case on Reddit.

When Redditor mrrrandom5165 posted a picture to the r/ChevyTrucks subreddit, he was intending to show off his latest purchase. Instead, he got way more than he bargained for.

His latest purchase, self-identified as an impulse buy, was a trailer. More specifically, it’s a trailer made out of the back half of a third generation Chevrolet C10 pickup.

The silver stepside bed makes up the body of the trailer, while the stock taillights, license plate mount, rear axle, and tires serve more or less the same purpose as they always have. It really does seem like someone just hacked an old box Chevy pickup in half and made a trailer in the simplest way possible.

While mrrrandom5165 was understandably proud of his purchase, the funny comments began rolling in almost immediately. One poster states that “I think it’d be really interesting to hook stupid [stuff] up to the pinion of that differential.” That one had us in stitches.

Whoever built the trailer really did just leave everything as-is, instead of installing a correct trailer axle. Then again, it’s not all bad. As another poster points out, “That’s a good set up if you consider you have 1/2 ton springs an axle to carry a decent load.”

Most of the comments were about the tow vehicle, however. As mrrandom5165 explains, the truck belongs to his brother. Pennsylvania road salt is apparently to blame for the mix-and-match, red-and-white paint scheme. His brother just bought whatever rust-free parts he could find to keep the body of the truck clean, albeit mismatched.

Other comments about the truck were in regards to the smorgasbord of stickers on the back window. Heck, we can’t even type out the content of the stickers here due to our own sensibilities, but feel free to zoom in on the photo if you want. There’s a few “shocker” hand gestures, and at least two f-bombs that we could make out. Real classy stuff.

Of course, it’s all in good fun. Nobody makes fun of Chevy owners quite like other Chevy owners, right?
