Classic C10 receives an extreme makeover from automotive artists and goes on to win multiple prestigious honors.

Given the level of talent present in the industry, winning prestigious car show awards isn’t exactly easy. It takes supreme vision, incredible skill, and flawless execution to build something that’ll fill the trophy case these days. But the team behind this amazing 1967 Chevy C10, which we spotted at Mecum Auctions, obviously has what it takes.

It was most recently crowned a Goodguys 2019 LMC Truck of the Year Late Finalist award at the Southeastern Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina, and that’s just the beginning. The smooth C10 also nabbed a a Top 25 Award at Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup, besting 2,800 other entries. And by the looks of things, it’s pretty easy to see why.

On the outside, the sheet metal was treated to a full nip and tuck, from front grille to tailgate. Then, it was all covered in many coats of PPG Switchblade Silver. Little details abound, including flush-mounted glass and billet taillight housings, that only complement this truck’s handsome looks. And it all sits down low on a set of staggered 20″ front and 22″ rear Billet Specialties wheels wrapped with Toyo redline tires.

As you might imagine, the suspension of this C10 has received a massive overhaul as well. It now utilizes goodies including a RideTech StrongArms independent front suspension, a Currie 9-inch rear axle, and RideTech adjustable coilovers. Wilwood brakes with 6-piston calipers and drilled and slotted rotors slow it all down in a hurry. And unlike most builds, this one is proud to show all this off via flip-up slats in the wood bed floor.

Getting up to speed is no problem for this C10 either, thanks to a modern LS3 powerplant. The bejeweled engine produces 525 hp and looks fantastic with Speedmaster side-draft velocity stack fuel injection and Holley EFI. You won’t find any exposed wires or other eyesores here – this engine bay is quite simply a work of art. The same goes for the interior, which is awash with modern components and acres of supple leather.

Clearly, a group of automotive artists came together to create this special C10. And the results are predictably glorious. With style for days and a modern driving experience, we can’t think of a street machine we’d rather be seen pounding pavement in.
