When the Long Beach Grand Prix rolled into Southern California this past weekend, we immediately found our favorite ride among the countless cool cars that were on exhibit and on the track. As we stepped in for a closer look, that’s when we noticed that Chevy’s sleek white and blue IndyCar is just as impressive under the hood.
The magnificent machine’s V6 Twin Turbocharged engine is GM’s first of its kind since 2004, and it has already won countless racing and design awards. All things considered, it’s easy to see why this beast is being hailed for its brain and brawn.
The Louis Schwitzer award-winning engine has electronic throttle control, steering wheel-mounted paddle shift, double overhead camshafts, Billit steel crankshaft, Billit aluminum pistons and an aluminum block and head. Plus, it looks like something sculptured by the bastard offspring of da Vinci and Andretti.
