10 of the Coolest Chevy Trucks Hitting the Auction Block
1972 Chevy Suburban
Now, we’re looking at another Suburban, although this time it’s from 1972. Staying true to the age of shag carpet and weird shades of brown and yellow, this truck is painted Khaki (or, “Ochre” by Chevy) with white accents. With the only thing not white or beige being the big ol’ Chevy badge in the center of the grille. Underneath the massive hood lay a 300\350 crate engine, and a completely rebuilt transmission. Though, it’s not stated whether it’s an automatic or manual transmission. All we really do know is, based off of the pictures, it’s really cool.

The other neat thing about this particular truck is that the large bed is closed off. So, even though it’s also not clear whether it’s 2WD or 4WD, it would be a really cool truck to trick out for camping. First image that comes to mind is nice, comfortable sleeping set up with the back door open to watch the stars and seek shelter from bad weather. This is definitely a truck that could tolerate a good beating now and again, and be ready for the next round.
The only time anyone ever sees Suburbans this old is when they’re on the side of someone’s barn, or rotting in someone’s front yard. Seeing a ‘Burban look this good is a blessing in its own right. The color is a little questionable, but the adventures that would be ripe for the picking while behind the wheel more than makes up for it.
