1948 Chevy Hauler

Vintage Chevy 3600 isn’t your average, boring, everyday tow truck.

Whether or not you have a towing business or even a classic Chevy to tow around, you can’t help but love vintage tow trucks. Well, unless you haven’t made you loan payment in a while, that is. But for the rest of us, old tow trucks give us a warm and fuzzy feeling. Just a bit of nostalgia and a reminder of a time when even work trucks had loads of character and class.

And this 1948 Chevy hauler has all of that and more. We spotted the classy ride in the Hemmings classifieds, where it was recently offered up for sale. It’s just the ride you need for cruising around town or starting up a side business. But personally, we’d use it to haul around our other classic Chevy, because that just seems like the right thing to do. Regardless of how you use the thing, you’ll undoubtedly look good doing it.

Because the maroon and black paint job looks simply fantastic over those vintage Chevy truck body lines. As do the solid aluminum wheels and beefy tires. A custom wood bed will make you want to load with care. But once you’re inside the cabin, the comfy red/black interior and air conditioning will make you want to stay a while.

A 350 V8 and automatic transmission makes for easy highway cruising as well. Maintenance is easy too, thanks to a tilt front end. But we’d guess you’ll never get tired of the view over that long, curvy hood. Or the sound of the small block emanating from the large chrome stacks behind the cab. Just don’t be surprised when you get a lot of tow requests when you cruise around in this 1948 Chevy hauler. Because who wouldn’t want to ride in the cab of this beauty?
