2018 Chevrolet Silverado

Nearly a dozen special editions, new colors, and a host of technology upgrades keep the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado fresh.

While we anxiously await the arrival of the all-new 2019 model, it would be short-sighted to overlook the fact that the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado is hitting dealerships now. Especially when you consider the fact that Chevy has quite a few appealing changes in store for its best-selling pickup. After all, 2018 marks 100 years of Chevy trucks, so it’s not like the automaker is going to simply gloss things over.

Instead, Chevy is offering a full 11 special-edition Silverado pickups for the 2018 model year. Those include the Black Out, Special Ops, Rally 1 and Rally 2, Redline, Midnight, Realtree, High Desert, Z71, All Star, and Texas Editions. Talk about a package for every taste!

You won’t find any revisions to the engine or transmission lineup for 2018. But there are a number of other changes taking place on the Silverado 1500. Custom trim is now available on crew cab models, and the eAssist package can be ordered on the LTZ. Two new exterior colors, Cajun Red Metallic and Havana Metallic, are available. The tire pressure monitor system now includes tire fill alert, and the rear-vision camera is now standard on all models. Finally, the MyLink 7-inch radio system is now standard on the WT model.

The 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD both bring a handful of changes to market as well. New exterior color options include Cajun Red Tintcoat, Havana Metallic, and Iridescent Pearl Tricoat. The TPMS and rear-vision cameras receive the same upgrades, as does the availability of the 7-inch MyLink. High Country and Z71 models receive new grill mesh designs, and both the Z71 and 4×4 graphics receive revisions.

So if you’re thinking about taking the plunge and picking up a new ride, rest assured that you don’t have to wait until next year to get the latest and greatest Chevy has to offer. The 2018 Chevrolet Silverado has just enough upgrades to keep it in the mix with the full-size pickup competition. Even if an all-new, highly revised model waits in the wings.
