To make accessing the bed easier, the CornerStep bumpers are now larger to accommodate things like steel toed boots. Integrated LED lighting provides plenty of juice on dark nights. And if you need to hook up some power tools or a compressor, there’s also a 110/120 volt power outlet ready.
The 2019 Silverado comes with not one, but four different tailgate options too. Standard Gate is your typical simple design, with no lift assist and a manual key lock. Stepping up to Standard Gate with Lift Assist adds, you guessed it, lift assist. Power Lock and Release offers lift assist, automatic release, and is power lockable. Stepping up to the LTZ or High Country trim levels gives you all of those goodies. Plus, you can opt for a tailgate that raises or lowers using the key fob or cab-mounted button.
By focusing on perhaps the most important part of the truck, Chevy is truly one-upping the competition. “The bed is the heart and soul of any pickup.
