Born in the U.S.A.: 50-year-old Chevrolet C10 Truck, a Sweet Slice of American Pie
Second-generation Chevy pickup truck has seen better days, but we can’t help swell with pride at this example of fine American steel and grit.
We love looking for unusual trucks online. There’s a thrill in finding that unusual custom build, or beefy pickup, and, of course, we love a solid classic rig. We spotted this 1969 Chevrolet C10 on Reddit and knew it was something special.
Posted to the Chevy Trucks subreddit by user They Said It Would Be Fun, he posted “Picture of my ’69 c10 from a couple years ago, now it’s in pieces for some much needed restoration.” He explained that his second-gen truck has been driven hard and fallen prey to rust. “This picture makes it look pretty good, but I drove it in Indiana for a couple years before I joined the military. The rust is getting pretty rough, as much as I love the flames, they can always get painted back on.”
We’re hoping he gets a chance to restore her to her former glory. Until then, he still has another Chevy that is taking care of business.
His Silverado is still a solid and impressive workhorse. “Towed my buddy’s 72 Cj-6 from Colorado to Fort Hood, the ol’ Chevy still pulls like a dream. 236K and climbing.”
We just hope the C10 gets some much needed TLC and returns to the road soon.
