Brand New Silverado Tragically Drowns in a Lake

By -

Bet he’ll be sure it’s in 4-wheel drive the next time he’s at the ramp.

When you buy a Chevy Silverado, you imagine all the ways in which this powerful truck will help you out. The truck bed would be great for loading up on the job site, you can go off-road a little, and you can tow just about anything you could want to tow. For many, one thing you’ll probably end up towing is a boat, so you can enjoy those sunny days on the water. Well, for one Silverado owner, that beautiful sunny day turned out to be the day from Hell.

There’s not much known about the set up to the video, above, that we came across on YouTube. The video starts out mysteriously. We see a tow truck, pulling something out of the water. People are all around, quiet and sad, but anxiously awaiting the reveal. Then as bubbles appear at the surface, we see the front end of a white Silverado emerging from the water. As the video unfolds, you see the whole truck re-emerge, looking as if it just got out of the car wash. And what is behind the truck? The boat trailer, still attached to the vehicle. It’s a total loss.

Chevy Silverado

What makes this video tragic isn’t that it’s a totaled Silverado. The worst part is that it’s a brand-new Silverado. At the time this happened, the white truck was a 2016 pristine-looking Silverado. It’s as if you plucked it off the showroom floor and drowned it mercilessly at the bottom of the lake. The sad cherry on top is when you see the owner (we’re guessing) open up the rear door, water comes flooding out like you’d see in a movie or cartoon.

The video description says that the truck slid down the “slime” on the boat ramp, into the water. It’s clear the driver of the truck wasn’t thinking, or just wasn’t aware of the danger he was in because it seems like he had the truck in two-wheel drive. “If he would have had it in 4-wheel drive, he wouldn’t have had a problem,” the video narrator concludes.

That’s a “Doh!” moment if we’ve ever seen one.
