Budget Build Turns Crusty C4 Corvette into Movie Car

Mighty Car Mods gets inspired by Fast & Furious in the best way possible.

There are a few things that we know to be certain in life: death, taxes, and the fact that your car build is going to take longer and cost more money than you originally thought. But, if you do it right and start with the right car, the end result can be both cheap and cool. Look no further than this Mighty Car Mods transformation of a crusty old C4 Corvette as proof. MCM set out to build a movie car like the ones used in Fast and Furious 8, so quite a few shortcuts were in order.

Typically, if you want to save money on a build, you start with a nicer car. But the C4 here rolls in on a trailer, looking and sounding like it’s on its last legs. And according to MCM, it smells like a combination of “petrol, sweat, and burger sauce.” So you know that it had to be cheap, especially since C4s are some of the biggest bargains out there today.

MCM didn’t waste any time transforming the sad C4 into what the Internet dubbed “Dominic Corvetto.” After a good powerwash to remove some crust, a massive set of wheels and tires went on. In fact, they are the same type of rolling stock used on the C2 Corvette in The Fate of the Furious. To properly cover them, the team threw on a set of custom fender flares.

Next, the ‘Vette headed outside and received a parking-lot paint job. Black spray paint subs in for tint on the back glass, and a massive rear spoiler is installed. And that’s pretty much it.

Sure, there are some problems, like the huge rolling stock rubbing against the fenders. And the anemic power of the worn engine has a hard time spinning the rear tires once they’re warmed up. But hey, what do you expect for some loose change and five hours of work? This ‘Vette might not be fast, but it sure is furious.
