Chevrolet C10 Restomod Rendering Is Chopped & Dropped Perfection

Digital artist works his magic on the classic Chevrolet C10 pickup, and the result has us reaching for our virtual checkbooks.

The Chevrolet C10 was a new type of truck for the brand when it debuted back in 1960. And the C10 came in many body styles back then including the Stepside, Fleetside, Suburban SUV and the panel truck. It was extremely popular and had a nearly 30-year run. 1987 was the last year for the Chevy C10. Of course, Chevy didn’t stop making trucks or SUVs at that time. But the C10 nomenclature was replaced by 1500, 2500, etc. So, even the newest C10 is a classic vehicle in the year 2023. And even though it has been 36 years since you could buy a C10 many people have not forgotten about those classic trucks. One such person that hasn’t forgotten is the artist known as wb.artist20 on Instagram. He just gave us a digital rendering of a Chevrolet C10 restomod that looks brilliant.

The rendering appears to be based off the second generation of C10 trucks that were produced from 1967 until 1972. These are arguably the best looking of all the C10 trucks. These trucks sat lower to the ground to allow for easier access. Of course, they never sat quite so low as they do in this rendering. The rendered truck also seems to be taking a pre-1971 truck as inspiration. In 1971 the C10 got the egg crate grille which you don’t see in this restomod digital creation. We will dive into more of the details in a moment, but just look at this truck. If this was available at your local Chevy dealer, would you not be driving there right now with checkbook in hand?

When describing this rendering let’s first start with the words from the artist himself. “I’ve been wanting to do something with a C-10 for a while and finally got around to it! Sharpened all the lines, chopped custom top, raked windshield, LED lights everywhere along with LED grille, full custom body kit, custom hood, with a different take on the rear bumper rather than a roll pan.” What he doesn’t mention is the cool looking carbon fiber bed. It also has a sweet quad exhaust setup so that means that this is not imagined as an EV. Yay!  Maybe a Chevy ZZ572 crate engine can be dropped inside? We can dream, can’t we?

Show Truck

Rendering

If a truck like this did suddenly become real, it would obviously not be a serious work truck. This is not a C10 that you would use on the farm. But that is totally fine. We already have plenty of trucks on the market that can do the mucking and the grinding. And we also have plenty of restomod type trucks like this one that are more for show or street use. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Build It

If you like what you see here (and how can you not?) then you are likely going to have to build it yourself. Chevrolet is NOT going to build a C10 pickup like this. Yes, the crazy Ford Raptor R is out there as well as the RAM TRX. But Chevrolet, like most automakers now are focusing on getting EVs built. They will not divert resources to a project like this no matter how much we might want it. But if you have some money burning a hole in your pocket you can find a donor truck and find a shop that will build you a truck just like this one. If you did, you would forever be our hero.
