Now that is how to make an impression! Chevy tapped hot country-trap artist Breland and a fleet of Silverados to launch their online presence.

Chevy just launched their new account on TikTok. Chevrolet anticipated that they would need to go bold on the social media platform and so they did just that in their debut. As their first post, Chevy chose a revamped music video of the hit song, “My Truck” written and performed by the platinum-selling artist Breland.

Can you go wrong with a catchy truck loving song featuring gorgeous shots of Chevy Silverados? Nope.

Choosing an artist such as Breland was a great choice for Chevy. He appeals to a wide range of people, and definitely brings in younger truck fans.

Breland gained notoriety last year with the release of “My Truck.” The song garnered attention for its seamless and effective blend of country and trap/rap music. Not to mention, it was an instant classic trucking song with lyrics like: “You can drink my liquor/You can call my lady/You can take my money/You can smoke my blunt/Scuff these Jordans/You can say you hate me/You can call me crazy, but Don’t touch my truck (skrrt, skrrt)/V8 engine with the windows tinted/Boy, we came from the bottom, got it out the mud.”

After the self-released track started to gain multi-platform success, he put out an official video that made the song a hit. Last year he released a remix of “My Truck” featuring Country superstar Sam Hunt.

It was the perfect match for Chevy. A hot, new artist with an anthemic truck song. Okay, a few edits were made from the original lyrics; but the new video is already racking up a lot of hits on TikTok.

“Chevy is a brand that loves celebrating trucks and the people who own them,” said Steven Majoros, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “Breland’s song, ‘My Truck’ is so exciting because it is a great representation of why truck customers love their vehicles – they offer a source of adventure, fun and capability. The reboot of ‘My Truck’ will definitely be a new anthem for Chevy Truck customers.”

While filming the music video, Chevrolet leveraged three distinct locations across Nashville, Tennessee. These backdrops not only highlight the beauty of the city, but also represent the diversity of truck customers. In the video, Chevrolet pairs each location with unique Chevrolet Silverado trims  including the Silverado LT Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss Midnight Edition, and Silverado Custom.

“Chevy was the perfect collaborator to breathe new life into ‘My Truck’ because they truly understand what makes truck culture so special,” said Breland. “They appreciate that truck enthusiasts are getting younger and more diverse, and that insight was the inspiration for the original version of the song. Coming to the table with that shared perspective made the collaborative process of rewriting ‘My Truck’ so much fun.”
