Clean, Dropped C10 Packs 454 Power Under the Hood

Slab-sided good looks, a lowered stance, and big block power are the perfect recipe for a clean sport truck.

We love a good sport truck here on Chevrolet Forum. Don’t get us wrong, we love a good, lifted 4×4 on meaty tires as much as the next guy. However, there’s just something so cool about a clean, lowered pickup packing big power.

We expect our trucks to do it all, so when one can haul lumber in addition to hauling you-know-what, it certainly gets our attention. This clean pickup comes to us from the r/Chevy subreddit. Redditor J701LR posted this photo of his recently completed C10 sport truck.

The low angle of the photo really accentuates this truck’s slammed stance. The poster advises that it’s been lowered 3″ in the front, and 5″ in the rear. Sure, a lowered ride height may affect payload, but you have to admit that it looks cool. We’re sure the owner isn’t complaining as he cruises the streets in this clean-looking C10.

Clean, Simple, and Powerful

Clean and simple is the name of the game with this truck. Slab sides and subdued silver blue paint pair well with the classic custom grille and Cragar S/S wheels. There’s a bare minimum of chrome trim to break up the boxy body, but what’s there is polished to absolute perfection.

This truck looks like it could have rolled straight out of the “Reader’s Rides” section of an early 1980s hot rod magazine. We definitely approve of the aesthetic.

It’s pretty clear that this classic C10 has the look nailed. The question is, does it have the power to back up those streetwise good looks? The answer is a thundering, resounding yes — there’s real power under that wide, flat hood.

You’ll find no small block here. No way. This C10 has a 454 big block nestled in between the fenders. We really wish that we had some more information on the engine build, but really, what more do you need to know? It’s big and it’s bad.

We’d be more than happy to have a street truck like this to cruise the boulevard in the summer. Don’t bother with a stereo — we just want to roll the windows down and hear that big block breathe.
