Heads Up Display Modernizes Your Old Chevy (Sponsored Content)
Hudway’s Cast is a quick, easy, and cheap way to add seriously modern tech to your Chevy.
While we love modern Chevy trucks, we also can’t help but hold on to our old ones. There’s just something undeniably cool about a C-10, square-body, or even an old school Blazer that no new vehicle can replicate. On the other hand, we love the many modern conveniences present in new vehicles, too. Things that make them safer, more enjoyable, and easier to drive. So when we come across products that allow us to have our cake and eat it too, we consider that a huge win.
This heads up display from a company called Hudway is exactly that. New school technology that you can plug into an old school ride. The cool thing is, HUD is still a relatively new technology only available in more expensive luxury vehicles. Hudway’s Cast unit works in any vehicle, on the other hand. It sits on your dash and uses the Bluetooth on your phone to transmit information. You can even connect an external camera to it if you want.
This video review from YouTuber Geared Towards Automotive does a nice job explaining Hudway’s HUD and demonstrating how it works. Right off the bat, he points out that getting started is very easy. “It’s a one-time setup and every time after that you won’t have to pair it again. So it’s just like Bluetooth with your phone or headphones.”
For those who don’t have navigation in their vehicles, this looks like a great solution. We all know the struggle of trying to find a place to set or mount our phone while navigating streets we aren’t familiar with. And that’s the beauty of the Hudway Cast. All of the maps are right there in front of you. But that isn’t all it’s good for, as our reviewer points out. “The daily use of the product really is for navigation, of course. But also Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, listening to music, taking phone calls, all while driving safe and not taking your eyes off of the road.”
Of course, the display on the Hudway Cast is also completely customizable. You can view your maps, music, contacts, time, temperature, and even pitch and roll when you’re off-roading. To change between these screens, all you have to do is swipe left or right on your phone. It’s ingenious, really. And clearly a relatively inexpensive and easy way to get some truly modern tech in your old Chevy. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, you can purchase a Hudway Cast by heading over here.
