1977 C-10

Countless hours of hard work and innovative fabrication make this all-GM 1977 C-10 worth a look.

One thing we never get tired of looking at here at Chevrolet Forum are old, beat up trucks transformed into amazing restored rides. There’s just something terribly satisfying about watching an old vehicle saved from the graveyard by a heroic individual that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And that’s exactly what happened when we ran across forum member 91Caprice and his incredible 1977 C-10 transformation.

The classic Chevy truck wasn’t exactly in terrible condition to begin with. But it’d obviously seen better days. With tired white paint, dull chrome, and a dirty interior. And after a long life of service, it was time to turn this C-10 into something truly special. On the outside, that meant new chrome, pristine body work, and a lovely paint job that still keeps things in the family.

“Early 90’s GM color code called “Medium Dark Metallic Blue.” I think it ran from 90-93. Really looks nice in the sun 1977 C-10 Undergoes Amazing Transformation

Inside, the 1977 C-10 was treated to seats out of a newer Silverado, a color change, and Dakota Digital gauges. But this was no simple job, as 91Caprice revealed.

“There was considerable modification and fab work to get the seats to fit and still come out with a clean OEM look to the end result. I’ve seen some and you can tell by looking at the install that they hacked up the seats to get them to fit. If you look at this install you would think they were just a bolt in mod which is what my main goal was 1977 C-10 Undergoes Amazing Transformation. Most people don’t even notice that the humps for the gas tanks has been cut down considerably (gas tank has been relocated).”

Lest you think this classic Chevy is merely a cosmetic job, however, think again.

“[It’s got a] 350/330 hp crate motor with a rebuilt TH350 with B&M shift kit. Rear end needs an upgrade. Don’t remember the ratio but it’s 3.08 or worse. Would like 3.73’s and posi in the future. It’s got true duals with Dynomax headers into dual 40 series Flowmasters (no cats).”

The feedback from forum members is obviously glowing. “That’s beautiful,” remarked Scooch. “You’ve done an awesome job with that Chevy. Very tastefully done… inside and out.” “That looks amazing and super clean,” added nerddason. “Great work!” An envious therewolf said “So, ah, when you’re all done there, can you do my 04 Silvy?”

We obviously concur. But 91Caprice’s gorgeous C-10 is just one of the many fine rides you’ll find in the “Show Off Central” section of our forums. So next time you’ve got a spare couple of hours, be sure and check out the rest of the stunning Chevys you’ll find hanging around!
