Dumb Criminals Steal Chevy Pickup to Tow Stolen Corvette

They might be idiots, but they do have good taste in Bowtie rides.

Thieves in Bellmead, Texas recently pulled off a crazy double Chevy heist. Their initial target was a 1979 Corvette. But once they got their mitts on the sweet classic ‘Vette, they apparently needed a way to haul it to Dallas. So, they took the next logical step. Yep, they stole a two tone 1985 Chevrolet Silverado to do the towing.

Hm. Once we had the cool 1985 K10 pickup in our possession it would be a tough call which vehicle we’d want to keep. The ’79 Corvette is awesome, but a classic two toned truck is definitely our weakness.

According to the Bellmead Police Department, witnesses observed the pickup towing the Corvette at the Road Ranger truck stop. They later obtained video that captured the entire scene. Smile, you’re on Candid Camera!

Detectives from Bellmead contacted the Dallas PD Auto Theft Task Force, and a tip lead them to the stolen truck. The Corvette, however, remains at large.

Police believe the red 1979 Corvette is still in the Dallas area. They ask anyone with information to contact law enforcement.

So, what would you pick? A classic 1985 two toned dark brown and tan Chevy Silverado, or a 1979 red Corvette? (Trick question! The correct answer is both, please.) Let us know in the comments, or join in the discussion in the forums.
