After Brief, Regretful Stint with Mopar, Enders’ NHRA Team Is Ready to Step on the Top of the Podium

Racer Erica Enders isn’t a stranger to the victory lane. The young female driver isn’t only a role model to many upcoming racers but also a two-time NHRA Pro Stock champion.

A proud bearer of the Chevrolet bowtie, Enders found herself struggling during the 2016 NHRA season due to more variables than she could understand. Like most top-notch racers, there comes a season when the superiority stops, and the struggles begin. Seasonal slumps can easily cause tension within winning teams, though reports claim tempers remained calm amid the storm.

When it comes to tough times, the Elite Motorsports driver claimed, “There is zero ego on this team. It’s easy to be all happy when you’re winning, but the true measure of people comes when times are tough. We’re tough.”

Times were in fact, tough, when Elite Motorsports decided to dump their championship-winning Chevy Camaro. The decision was abrupt, and did not allow enough time for the NHRA to unveil the 2016 season’s rules. As a result, Enders found herself behind the wheel of a Mopar Dodge Dart , which went on to produce miserably results. If any…

Despite the challenging times, Enders and her team pulled the plug on the operation, and went back to Chevrolet. Some say it was Mopar who abandoned Elite, and others say otherwise. Perhaps we’ll never know, though it doesn’t really matter. The only thing that matters is that they’re ready to get back to their winning ways.

“This year is gonna be great because I already know what we’re capable of, and so does everyone else,” said Enders. “At the same time, I learned we don’t need win lights and trophies to be fulfilled. Being a family, having each other’s backs no matter what, being together through it all – that’s what matters.”
