Flatbed pickups generally scream work horse. But this gorgeous vintage Chevy is living large in retirement!

When you think of flatbed Chevy trucks, you likely think of hard work. After all, these trucks were built to haul heavy loads for long distances. But it’s safe to say that this particular 1950 Chevy truck, which we spotted over at The Collector Car Network, is more show horse than work horse. Because it’s one of the more beautiful classic Chevys we’ve seen in quite some time!

For starters, this isn’t your typical diamond plate or steel flatbed. Rather, it’s a custom wood piece we would never dream of gouging up with tools or equipment. The freshly applied green paint is likewise flawless, covering bodywork that the seller claims was rust free to begin with. Cap it all off with shiny new chrome, and you’ve got the makings of one beautiful ride.

Much of the rest of this spotless 1950 Chevy truck is original, including the 216-inch straight-six and 4-speed manual transmission. The same goes for the flawless interior, with its loose fitting vinyl seat cover and classy two-tone color scheme. Interestingly, however, the owner passed on the opportunity to paint/rechrome the engine, but that’s an easy enough fix.

Otherwise, this vintage Chevy pickup seems worth every penny of the asking price. Especially when you consider the fact that it’s a relatively rare (and popular) five-window. It might not be 100% stock or absolutely perfect, but it’s a gorgeous truck that will draw stares (and win awards) everywhere you take it. And even though it was originally built to work, these days, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying a nice, long retirement!
