1968 Chevrolet K10

Orange and white K10 creamsicle boasts a modern LS under the hood, fine leather interior, and a color-matched bedliner.

Before the Silverado was its own truck, the C/K was the standard bearer for Chevrolet. Ford can sell as many F-150s as it wants, but it will never top what the C/K did for the truck market, introducing creature comforts and conveniences the Blue Oval would only adopt years later. To say we have an appreciation for the truck that drives like a Corvette would be an understatement.

The other day, we were looking through the listings of Mecum Auctions’ upcoming appearance in Las Vegas November 15th through 17th when we happened upon this orange creamsicle 1968 Chevrolet K10.

Under the big orange hood of this K10 is a 6.0-liter LS V8 nestled between a big aluminum radiator and smoothed firewall, which puts out 360 horses and 380 lb-ft of torque out of the crate. Behind the LS is a tan leather and carpet interior with a pair of buckets and a center console occupying the space where a bench seat used to be, accessible with the help of retractable running boards.

The bed is covered in orange spray-in bedliner, which means this K10 can work hard and still look good. Another trick the bed has in its sleeve is the gas cap, which is tucked away behind a side marker. The truck still wears a set of polished stock Chevy Rallye wheels, which are now wrapped in BF Goodrich tires.

This frame-off restoration is as fresh as it gets for a K10. Whoever is the lucky bidder will have one hell of a truck to take to work.
