HRE FlowForm Series Wheels on Derin Richardson's Sixth Gen Chevrolet Camaro

HRE FlowForm wheels bring a perfect balance of class, style and affordability to any ride, and your favorite Chevy wears them beautifully.

When it comes to choosing a new set of wheels for your ride, the possibilities are virtually endless. Complimenting the number of options is a vast spectrum of prices. However, affordable doesn’t always cause a detriment to quality. Nor does it dictate appearance. In a confusing and endless world of wheels, HRE Wheels brings an astonishing combination of durability and affordability with its FlowForm series.

In a recent published article on our sister site, LS1 Tech, editor Derin Richardson shares his experience with a brand new set of HRE FlowForm FF10 wheels.

Despite the dimensions of these beautiful wheels coming in at 20 by 10 inches up front and 20 by 11 inches around back, the installation nets Richardson an overall weight savings of more than 27 pounds in comparison to the stock wheels. Thanks to the flow-forming process used in creating these wheels, the HRE FlowForm series brings strength similar to forged wheels to the table. However, they won’t leave nearly as much of aching in your wallet.

“Flow forming tech uses two crucial components to achieve this—constant pressure and stretching. The wheel is first cast on a production-grade dowel from a single metal disk or tube (HRE uses A3 5.62 aluminum alloy). The wheel is then rapidly spun around over an open heat source so that it can be stretched and compressed in intervals,” writes Richardson.

Classy Upgrade for All

While Richardson’s Camaro does look stunning on these wheels, the HRE FlowForm series suits all kinds of makes and models. In fact, the HRE Wheels website allows you to specify what car you drive and shows you the options they have available for purchase. These wheels really bring together C7 and C8 Corvettes, as well. Additionally, you’ll often find a set of HRE Wheels on the likes of Lamborghinis and Ferraris. These wheels truly bring any car to a higher aesthetic standard. No matter what you drive, HRE Wheels has a suitable set for you.

These wheels aren’t just an upgrade in style, though. With their substantial weight savings, you’ll encounter improvements in handling. Pair them with a set of grippy tires, and you’ll dominate on windy roads and race tracks. Your car will look darn good doing it, too.

Overall, we can’t say enough good things about these wheels. What’s not to like? They are durable, much more affordable than forged wheels, and absolutely gorgeous to look at. For comparison sake, a full set of HRE FlowForm wheels will set you back around $2,700 in this size. However, A set of HRE forged wheels, like their iconic S101, will cost you nearly four times that with a starting price of $2,200 per corner. The HRE FlowForm series is the perfect middle ground for those not looking to burn nearly five figures on a set of wheels. Though, if you have it to spend, HRE’s forged wheels are quite stunning, too.
