Grass trucks, also called brush trucks, are often unsung heroes of fire departments. Essentially, they’re pickups with a tank, pump, and hose in the bed that allows fire fighters to to drive and spray water at the same time, something the bigger fire engines cannot do. So in those hard-to-reach places or if the engine couldn’t drive over softer ground, these 4×4 trucks could get in there and do the job. That’s what this 1972 Chevrolet K20 4×4 did for the majority of its life.

This pickup comes from the Dayton, Ohio and Maplewood, Ohio Fire Department and has only 43,280 miles. It has a 350 V8 and a 4-speed transmission. It has a new battery, Holley carburetor, new exhaust, and tires. According to the seller, the hose from its time at the fire department is still tucked away in the frame rails, and it still has the front emergency lights and brush guard. Despite being a midwest car, the listing says, “You must see the underneath of this truck.” Which we assume means it’s in good shape.

If you’re in Michigan, this looks like a fair deal at $13,500.
