Next President Will Have an Even More Beastly Cadillac Limo

Here’s an option you don’t find on your average Chevy: bombproofing. Of course, your average Chevy isn’t exactly the President of the United States’ limousine.

As President Obama drives off into the presidential sunset, so too will his sturdy ride, “The Beast,” a highly customized Cadillac DTS, which actually rides on a Kodiak medium-duty truck chassis. Now, thanks to spy shots, we’ve got our first look at the next president’s ride. And regardless of who that person might be, it looks like they’ll be rolling heavy in another Caddy.

Check out AutoBlog‘s lone spy shot of the next presidential limo, which may just be the most accurate use of the word “spy shot” ever:

As you and every spy agency in the world can see, the next presidential state car (as its officially called) looks like a bruiser, though one with the refinement of the latest Cadillac models. It kind of looks like a much bigger CT6 sedan. At least it does from the front end.

We’ll probably never really know about what this baby’s packing. But we can assume she’ll be sporting top-of-the-line tech, including bulletproofing, bombproofing, and an alternate onboard air supply. Not to mention she’ll be the first presidential limo to feature the new wreathless logo, which should really help lighten the ample load.

It’s been a long and winding road for the next-gen Limousine One, as the government initially sent out requests for proposals in 2013. We expect to see the new limo debut at the inauguration, just in time for the next president’s big coming out party.
