Going Green: Stunning ’50 Chevy 3100 Sports Unique Paint Job
Restored Chevrolet truck’s smooth lines and chrome trim pieces make its olive color really pop.
Finding a classic truck that’s worthy of a complete restoration is a difficult task. Locating a restored truck that’s unique, but still pays homage to the original look is nearly impossible. But this 1950 Chevrolet 3100 five-window pickup truck that we spotted on Hemmings manages to incorporate some bespoke touches while keeping the truck’s original charm intact.
Green may have been a popular color in the past, but automakers have shied away from the hue in more modern times. The individual that had this Chevy 3100 pickup restored decided to go with an incredible shade of green, which comes from a Volkswagen Beetle, called Gecko Green. The color doesn’t overpower the truck’s smooth, round lines, but accents it. And the chrome grille, wheels, bumpers, mirrors, and other trim pieces, all make the olive-like color pop. Good luck finding another car with this awesome paint job.
The body, which the listing claims is “arrow straight,” hides a new Chevy 350 cu. in. V8 engine that features an Edelbrock aluminum intake and a few other goodies. The engine is paired to a turbo 350 automatic transmission, while the suspension has also been updated.
With a new look on the outside and new underpinnings, it would be a shame to see an unfinished interior. Luckily, the inside features light beige leather, gauges from Omega Kustom, a vintage, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and lots of shiny chrome. And the dashboard appears to be finished in the same gorgeous Gecko Green as the exterior. Think the outside is pretty? Wait until you see the inside of this Chevy 3100.
The listing claims that the truck has traveled less than 60 miles since the restoration was completed, you know, just to make sure things are okay, and is ready for a new home. Putting this into the garage, though, won’t be cheap, as it’s priced at $59,995.
