Tangier Orange 2500HD ZR2 Bison is a Heavy Duty Hero
Someone picked all the right options for this one-of-a-kind machine.
If you’re into fast cars, there’s a pretty good chance that you’re into tough trucks, too. It makes sense – after all, just about every automotive hobbyist will needs a tow rig/parts chaser eventually. One interesting distinction between the two comes down to color. Oddly enough, while bright, flashy colors on sports cars look right at home, they tend to make trucks look like work vehicles.
In fact, the wild orange color on this truck comes from Chevrolet’s special fleet-focused color palette. However, we doubt that anyone would confuse this Chevy Silverado 2500HD ZR2 with a work truck. In fact, you’d have a hard time blending in anywhere. Unsurprisingly, the color – known officially as Tangier Orange – is special order only. You simply won’t find it in the standard online Build & Price tool.
Offered for sale at Diehl Chevrolet in Grove City, Pennsylvania, this 3/4 ton monster features an eye-watering $85,150 price tag. In this age of heavy markups, you might be surprised to learn that this truck is priced more or less right on the money. It’s got a ton of equipment.
Checking Nearly Every Box
In addition to the off-road focused ZR2 package, this tough truck is also equipped with the Bison package. In addition to special graphics, the Bison package includes heavy duty off-road upgrades from AEV. Those upgrades include front and rear bumpers, skid plates, and a unique set of 18″ wheels, as well as AEV interior trim.
Those upgrades, of course, are in addition to the already impressive ZR2 options, which include an electronic locker, revised steering knuckles, revised upper and lower front control arms, and an electronic locking rear differential. You’ll also find Multimatic DSSV dampers, ready to tackle any terrain. Who else uses these high-tech dampers? Ferrari, on their SF90 Stradale. Now that’s a vote of confidence if there ever was one.
While the 2500HD ZR2 trucks start at $72,595, the Bison package adds an additional $9,135 to the price tag. From the looks of this mean machine, we’d say that it’s worth every penny. The end result is an aggressive, off-road ready look with a color that’s hard to miss.
