Joe Exotic Tiger King Chevy Van 2004 With Trailer For Sale

Untamed Chevy van is plastered with the ‘Tiger King’ himself, Joe Exotic, and features a trailer and price tag as over the top as the theme.

We do have to admit that this post steps outside the realm of our typical subjects around here, but how could we let this slide? If you haven’t seen the Netflix series, Tiger King, you’ve undoubtedly heard of it. Between the countless memes floating around and it is being brought up in numerous conversations all over, it’s pretty hard to miss. The docuseries outlines the exploits of an Oklahoma based independent zoo owner, country musician and avid Methamphetamine user Joe Exotic. If you’re familiar with the show, you’ll know that “exotic” is almost not powerful enough of a word to describe his life. However, the show has gained a cult following and has produced some fascinating artifacts. Take this van, for example.

This 2004 Chevy van is listed for sale on DuPont Registry for a remarkably frustrating $295,000. They mark it down as a replica. Though, no similar van appeared in the series. It’s more of a tribute if you will. While there are certainly far more things we could think to make a tribute to before Tiger King, we do have to admit it’s done quite well. Is it done $300,000 well, though? Let’s take a look.

The quick and easy answer seems to be a resounding negative. While it does show some remarkable dedication, it’s really still just an old Chevy van with a wrap job on it. It does, however, include a fancy truck bed trailer with a tiger cage onboard. Of course, there’s a fake tiger in there for good measure.

We admire the dedication. We do find ourselves asking why it exists frequently, though.

Could you be the next Tiger King with this beastly van?

From end to end, this thing is one big rolling joke. The rear of the cage sporting the slogan “Don’t Meth with tigers,” sets the tone throughout. Of course, the mention of Carole Baskin, the show’s antihero,  on the back door ices the cake. However, it may not be all bad. It seems the people who built it, Lawyer Garage, plan on giving proceeds from the sale to the buyer’s charity of choice. They are a shop that specializes in building and selling wild and weird cars. Though, the charity portion doesn’t come up in the for sale ad. Their Instagram comment doesn’t shed much light on the percentage of proceeds being donated, either. We’ll let you come to your own conclusions on that subject.

We can’t fault Lawyer Garage for tapping into what’s trending. Those this van doesn’t quite hit the spot for us, maybe it will hit the spot for someone with a spare $300,000 burning a hole in their pocket. From our end, though, it doesn’t seem super likely.
