Default 1988 needs either to start

Just picked up a 1988 2500 Cheyenne 4x4 with only 86k miles.
We need to spray with either to get to start every time.
it will run and drive totally fine once it gets started.
Any ideas of where to start?
thanks

Fuel pump is losing it's prime. Probably has a bad check valve in the fuel pump assembly.
