Angry 1994 Silverado k1500 5.7 no power missing 2000 rpm

This is my Father's truck he left to me when COVID-19 hit him at 92 years old. He is with Jesus now. We were rebuilding this truck together. He was a lifelong mechanic. This is the work I have done trying to get it to run right. It starts and idols perfectly. at about 2000 rpm it will begin to miss and push fuel back up the throttle body. I cannot find the problem. I've watched many YouTube videos. Talked with many mechanics. No one seems to know what else to do. New rebuilt block and heads: replace

1) MAP sensor

2) Knock sensor

3) Water temperature gage

4) ERG Valve

5) Throttle position sensor

6) Coil, plugs, wires and rebuilt distributor

7) Speed sensor on transfer case

8) Idle air control valve

9) EGR Control solenoid

10) New Computer (ECM)

11) Fuel filter twice

12) emptied and cleaned the fuel tank

13) new fuel pump ( the best I could buy at Rock Auto)

14) rebuilt distributor

15) rebuilt throttle body: filters and seals (not sure about fuel pressure)

(Maybe fuel pressure control in throttle body if I did not come in the rebuild kit.)

Searched for and repaired or cleaned grounds, shorts, vacuum leaks,

Re-adjusted valves ( possibly needs new lifters and /or rocker arms, though all look good.)

Adjusted timing several times. But I have a hard time seeing the exact timing mark. You have to unplug the wire in front of the glove box while timing then reconnect it afterwards.

Checked fuse block for 12.3 volts: a-ok
looked for wiring shorting out and could not find anything.

There is a small ground nut on the new coil I installed. do I need to ground it?

LOW POWER and TIMING: many suggest that the timing has to be exact.

Spark plug wires are not all protected from the exhaust manifold nor are they secure.

Yes the ground wire needs to be, well, grounded. You likely need all the spark plug heat shields in place. The spark plug wires do need to be protected from exhaust heat.

My condolences for losing your father, Rconwell.

I will continue to work on this truck. I ordered new ground wires and spark plug heat shields to install. Ill let you know if anything works. Someone suggested installing a completely new distributor instead of just rebuilding the old one ( which I have done).
