1995 C1500 5.0 has odd idle and acceleration
So I've owned the truck for almost 10 years, over the last couple years it's had an issue I haven't managed to isolate. I haven't driven it full time since but I have to go back to driving it as a daily again.
Once it has warmed up, maybe 150-160 degrees at the minimum it will start having a rough idle and if I'm driving and stopped at a light or stop sign it will feel sluggish on acceleration from a full stop.
The idle isn't 100% of the time but when it does do it, it doesn't sound like a back fire or anything. It sounds like a huffing sound or sneezing. The truck does noticeably shake a little when it occurs.
When accelerating from a stop or when I stop and put it in reverse it will feel sluggish like it's lean or rich and sort of feels bogged down, but with a little pedal it will accelerate through it.
At driving speeds it runs 100% fine and nothing noticeable occurs.
I've never felt like the truck was going to stall out or die, it's always managed to just drive out of the hesitation.
I have no lights on the dash, simple readers haven't shown anything. I'm trying to get back in contact with the mechanic who figured out an older issue that was similar years ago (coolant temp sensor was reading wrong. Dash showed 1 temp, ecu showed another). Weirdly seemed like this issue with the way the truck acted.
I've fixed a number of things on this truck over the years and am going to try and list them along with dates I did.
Plugs and wires (minus cylinder 7. The oil dipstick blocks the plug connector and I cannot for the life of me get it off.) 1-2 years ago
Distributor 1-2 years ago (same time as plugs and wires)
Fuel filter - just prior to the Distributor, plugs and wires
Throttle position sensor - I did this once years ago when I had the thermostat issue, even tried to original one I still had. Neither new/old one changed anything.
coolant temperature sensor - 4 or so years ago, had oddly similar symptoms to this. But messing with the plug on it does nothing, prior it would rev the engine/up down.
I feel like there's more but I can't think off the top of my head right now.
