1996 K1500 5.7 Hard start when warm, acts like low battery.
Hello, the truck starts up fine when cold, but after a short trip <10 miles it won't crank (acts like low battery or starter binding) for 2 -3 tries then it starts fine, I am thinking the starter, but being winter in Mass I don't want craw under it replace Starterand find it is something else, any suggestions?

sounds like my truck was...took it to mechanic with the proper tools and found timing was way off...dont know if it was set that way orwas loose and moved but once reset has been working fine.

Had the same problem recently. Just joined this forum ant saw this post. Anyway, the old-school remedy if the starter is suspect is to bang on the starter with a hammer. If after banging on it and it magically starts, its the starter, and needs to be replaced.
