Default 327 Engine

I got an in on a 327 that needs rebuilt at a great deal. I want to do all the work minus machining. I want to keep a manual transmission and wanted to get some thoughts from the forum. Any other advice will be appreciated.

I recommend "How To Rebuild Your Small Block Chevrolet V8" by David Vizard. If you stay with the stock pistons you will need to use premium fuel. If you use low compression pistons, to allow regular, you will have a noticeable loss of horsepower.

If it is a truck engine, you will already have low compression pistons or cylinder heads.
