Default 350 crate engine

I'm ready to buy a reman engine for my '93 K1500 and I want some feedback about the companies offering them, both positive and negative. I'm considering NuTech by AutoZone, Xtreme Performance, Powertrain Products, and ATK. If you have had experience buying from one of these suppliers or can suggest a known good one for me, I'd appreciate it. I bought a NEW crate engine from Chevrolet in 2010, for $1,800, but those deals are long gone. Thanks for the help and advice.

I have personally rebuilt (after machining) numerous 350s in trucks and for boats. If you have a good core and a reputable machine/rebuild shop, I'd take it to them. Regardless of having a rebuild or crated in engine, you still have to install it. But, you will know withing a couple of hours if motor(s) were put together correctly. Finding an older 350 core may be a problem. If you have a good "a" frame, I'd buy from local machine shop (after they put it together) and install my self.
