Exclamation 383 stroker in a 88 1500

First Off Great Site
That being said i'am looking at replacing my stock 350 tbi motor to a 383 stroker (CARB) with a matching th350 rebuilt. I have a few questions....
1= Does the computer have anything to do with the ac or any of the vent motors
2= The fuel pump in the tank can it be gutted and still have the float sending unit work if not is there a good replacement or workaround for it
and lastly has anyone else done this if so tips for a smooth swap would be great. Yeah i know gas mileage will drop some and its hacking up a really nice truck but i just dont like the fact that a small box can kill my whole truck if it decides to go Meh and die on me and a LS motor is out dont like fuel injection tbi is bad enough i like it old school like my last truck a 72 chevy 3/4 ton with a 454 god i miss that truck.... any way thanks for any help in adavance
