Default 4wd Questions

Hey im new to the forum been using it as a guest but I guess its time I make an account and ask my own questions.

I have a 1995 work truck 2500, has the shifter in the floor,
Im not positive if my shift light on the floor worked before, but as of now it does not. I also know that usually the first thing that goes out is the actuator, so i changed it and to no help, still doesnt go in and yet still no light on in the floor.

Im not positive but im also thinking that the full size trucks dont have the vaccum pump under the battery tray. Just curious to what every elses thoughts are?

Start by taking the actuator out, plug it in and see if it will extend (key on in 4hi) if not test the plug for power. While you’re under there check the passenger side axle shaft and see if it will slide out of the tube with slight pressure, shouldn’t come out more than a quarter inch.
this will narrow things down, post back what you find
