Hello, new here, I picked up a 1998 Chevy 1500 305 with a 5 speed, 4x4, ext cab, 297,800 miles, how rare is it? I’ve never ran across one before

 

i went into napa auto parts picking up some stuff and I believe he said something like only 16 percent of that year are made like that. I could be wrong it’s been awhile. I have about 145,000 miles on mine.

 

Not rare, but the people like the automatics. I have 1998 K-1500 with the 5 speed OD stick. It's an NP3500. Shifts like a dream. I keep her full of Royal Purple Full Synthetic fluid.Still has original clutch and throw-out bearing. I skip gears and run the clutch in neutral at long stops, so thats mostly why my gal has gone so long without a change.
