Default ABS control module transmission shift.

I have a 1993 Silverado with a 5.7. The previous owner rebuilt the automatic trans about two years ago and cranked it up in some way that it shifts so hard into second that the tires chirp. It literally gives you a pain in the neck not to mention what it is probably doing to the u joints. I also had an issue with the Brake light on the dash coming on a minute after I started driving. I replaced the entire brake system and still the light on the dash would come on. I saw a video with a guy that had the same problem. He consulted a Chevy tech who told him the ABS system was primitive in that year truck and just disconnect the ABS plugs that go to the modules attached to the master cylinder. I did that and there were no adverse effects to the braking system and the light went out. Now the crazy part. The transmission now shifts normal. No more hitting hard into second. I just want to know why and if it will damage the transmission.
