Default No idea what happened

So im on my way home from work on the interstate and had to come to a stop quickly. After doing so my truck started to run extremely bad and it wouldn't shift gears. I'm thinking my abs engaged maybe and that's whats causing it but im not sure and will welcome any other ideas.

A faulty ABS would trigger the ABS light on the dash. Might help if you could post more information about your vehicle - year, engine, etc. Is the check engine light on? Did you check for fault codes? That would be a good place to start. It may be just coincidence it began to run bad after a panic stop.

Sorry its a 2001 Silverado 5.3 liter. Yes the check engine light is on has been since I bought it along with the abs light and the parking brake light even though ive pulled the lever numerous times. The reason I was thinking abs engaged is because it did start immediately after I had to suddenly stop.

Well , if the ABS/Brake light is on it's telling you there is an issue with the ABS and the hydraulic brake system. Could be as simple as the fluid is low. For the ABS you'll need to have the module scanned for fault codes. May have a bad sensor. The ABS will not engage if the ABS light is on.

Check Engine Light - first place to start is to have the PCM scanned for codes and see what it is telling you. Then diagnose from there.

Personally, I don't like driving around with the ABS or Brake light on.

Default Silverado shifting problems

Hi everyone was needing a little help. I have a 2001 Silverado 1500 2wd 5.3l. My truck is not wanting to shift out of second. I've replaced both shift solenoids and also just replaced the trans shift sensor and it is still not shifting. I have very limited knowlege of vehicles and all the research I did said it was one of those two things and in my case it is not so any ideas of what it could be or what I should check will be GREATLY appreciated. Hope you all have a wonderful day thanks.

Default Shift problems

So my truck won't shift out of second for nothing. I've even tried riding in 3 gear to see and does the same. I've replaced both shift solenoid and the shift relay. My question is is there anything else I should check before taking it to a tranny shop and having it replaced?

hey man so I read through this (thank you btw) but non of these issues are my problem. It won't shift out of first. I changed both shift solenoid and shift sensor relay but still won't shift out of 1st. Reverse is working fine and before this started I shifted through gears fine no grinding or anything
