Default Complete ground up restorations of older trucks

Just a thought does anyone believe that it could be profitable to have a business that completely restores
older trucks? I mean buys them, completely strips them down, new hoses, bushings, weather strips, paint, rebuilt motors and transmissions etc.
if it were scaled up to the point of an assembly line like new cars are manufactured maybe that would bring the cost down? I really would rather a new 98 Z71 or new 2000 Silverado over the newer trucks especially when a new one starts at 50K!!! Maybe it could be done for half the price!!
I don’t know what’s y’all thoughts?

I think it would be very difficult to do a full ground up restoration on most trucks for around 25k. Good paint jobs alone go for half of that.

New trucks are $50k+ and the manufacturers still flirt with bankruptcy/mass layoffs, and they have massive buying power and the benefit of cheap international labor.

So maybe the paint job would be primer and left up to the customer on the color and quality of paint

When you said "older" I was imagining pre 1980's - if you do it make it a reality TV show

If you do it, don't limit yourself to trucks. Do cars as well and that will greatly increase your business.
