Seems silly to replace a working pump for a check valve. Yea, they do fail, but so far it is ok - and new parts fail too!

Okay, I figure I would come and finish out this thread, now that I have solved the problem. I rented a fuel pressure gauge form the auto parts store, and found the / a place to connect it too under the hood (right behind the air box on top of the motor, towards the drivers side) and hooked it up. When I turned on the ignition, the fuel pump started (also making a lot of noise, which was normal) and when the pump shut of, the pressure went away. From what I had heard (as shown above) this meant a bad check valve. I did this test a few times out of curiosity, and some times the pressure would actually hold, so mine was intermittent. I replaced the fuel pump, and now the truck starts right up every time, just like it should. I hope when someone looks at this it can help them. Thanks to everyone who helped me out here!
