350 starts on second try
My 1994 C3500 5.7 liter won't start after 5 seconds of cranking, but then if I wait a few seconds it takes right off on the second try

When you turn the key on the fuel pump is supposed to run for a few seconds to pressure up the system so it can start. In a quiet place turn the key on and see if you hear the pump run for about 3 seconds then shut off. If not you could have a bad relay. If it runs you could have a leaking fuel regulator.
