First engine swap, and I'm All alone
As the title says this is my first engine swap in my Chevy Silverado 4 x 4 it's a throttlebody injected I picked up a used engine from someone and I'm pretty sure it's the exact same engine so I left my wiring harness in tact in the truck and got the engine out as well ready to put in like I said I'm on my own as of now with a few people having backed out on helping out. And so the last few days The donor engine has just been sitting waiting to be put in the truck but with a little less than ideal work area it's tough just by myself so I want to find a way to make this time more productive is there any suggestions on what I could do to prep the truck or the donor engine for dropping it in? Also, I noticed that the oil filter on the donor engine is larger and sits vertically on the engine where on my old engine there was an adapter and it allowed the oil filter to lay horizontally because the driveshaft would you get in the way of the filter vertically so I guess what I'm asking is could I just put the adapter off my old engine on to the new one so it will fit? Never join one of these posts and never try to post anything so I'm hoping this may help thanks in advance for your time
Thanks that's what I was thinking and needed the reassurance. Well I'll probably be getting around to puttin the new engine in tomorrow, giving I've got a few extra hands to help out. I did get the oil filter adapter exchanged so all is good there.
Well it turns out i wasnt alone after all. With some help from a couple buddies we got the engine in and mounted to trans and motor mounts and ill be getting everything hooked up accordingly later this morning.
