heres the scenario: went to back out of the driveway and the truck wouldnt start i then noticed my gear indicator light was still in od position with the shifter in park i went back and forth with the shifter and no change.. i then got under it and manually shifted in to park. started up no problem put in reverse and backed up and drove around stopped and tried to shift into park. shifter moves but stays in gear. i went under shifted into park manually again..etc. so , i can work the shifter fine through the forward gears from the park position but thats it..light shows im in gear even with shifter in park. both linkage rods in the colum seem to be moving .. i then followed the cable to the floorboard and pulled on the casing and the shifter moved but not the linkage at the tranny.. any help or ideas . not to mention i cant see how to get the ignition out either arrrggg!!
