Default Front diff.

1995 Chevy Silverado Z-71. Need advice/help with front diff not engaging. I think I've tried pretty much everything but still no engagement. I have put the truck on a lift, started truck and put into 4H. The front drive shaft will turn with transfer case but front tires will not turn. My actuator was changed from thermo to electric and does engage. I can hear it and I have taken it out, let it hang to watch it. I think I have even pushed in button manually to see if front tires spin front drive shaft only to get nothing. Ideas??

Thanks

Check the passenger side axle shaft, see if it will slide out of the tube an inch or so with minimal pressure. If so, the retaining clip that holds it in place has failed.

When this happens a shim falls off the nipple on the axle end. The shim will stop the clutch gear from sliding across and engaging the 4x4.
