Default High oil pressure

Removed the oil cooler lines on my K2500 several months ago due to the lines leaking like a sieve. Had to use the adapter to change the position of the oil filter. My oil pressure has went way up according to my gage. It now appears to be using more oil than before from leakage somewhere. Any ideas to lower the pressure. I am using 10W-30 Mobil 1.

What is the pressure reading; does it change hot vs cold motor? Are you seeing a visible leak on the ground??

The gage will peg when it's cold but does come down to about 45 when it warms up when running at highway speeds. It does drop to about 30 at idle when warm. I have not crawled under it but I am seeing some oil spots on the driveway towards the front of the truck. But I saw those spots with the leaking cooler lines before I removed them.

Try a mechanical gauge to see if the readings that you are getting are accurate. You could have a faulty sending unit or gauge.

I don't think it is the gage. High pressure started immediately after removing the oil cooler lines. I did some web searches and other people have had there pressure increase after the removal of the oil cooler lines??
