Yeah, leaving a vehicle set, particularly outdoors, is bad. Idea your seals won't be lubricated and will dry out and rot. Your gas will go bad. It will accumulate rust, you name it. I've seen lots of people do this, then they "don't know what happened" to vehicles that are designed to be driven, not sit for months. It's always best to drive it for at least 20 miles to help things running well. Turn on the A/C and that heater to make sure they get up hot and running. Corrosion sets in real easy on a vehicle not driven.

Had an idiot call me up, wanted his heater core replaced, leaking all over the floor.

Besides the cost, he admitted to me that he hadn't run the vehicle in 5 years. I said "no thanks" as he would have blamed me for all the other s**T that went bad, sitting for so long. Told him to use Alumaseal or Bars leak and to pray.

Your engine will fill up with moisture as well as your axles and tranny, even a stick shift. If you need real cheap insurance to keep it running, there are lots of insurance companies like Metromile that will charge a nominal fee, then 7.8 cents per mile. If you don't need it, then frakking sell it.

Probably the start here is check the fuel pressure with a tester. HF sells a cheap one. TBI should be around 15 if I remember right. You can also look down it to see how well the injectors are working. The spray should be even and fine. If it's dripping then there's possibly dirt in the injector. Does the check engine light come on, are there any codes?

If spark is intermittent under load , cyl will indicate that and performance shows that too. As far as exactly which part is malfunctioning, you need to know how the ignition system is supposed to work and do checking in steps to see where the possible breakdown is taking place. Most folks don't have the equip and background to do this type testing , and you might need to have someone with the equip and knowledge do some checks to verify all is well. What you can do is, make sure all the electrical connections are good , clean and tight that involve power to the coil(s) and plugs. If there is any way for spark to get to ground before going through the plug, that will cause a misfire. If more than one plug is involved it could be a system problem. The same condition will be present if NO Spark is present at the time it is required.
