Default My 91 c1500 is turning off while in gear

I need to figure out why my truck runs perfectly fine while I’m driving but I’m coming to a complete stop or I am at a stop and try to continue driving it shuts off and I have to put it in park and turn it back on and I drive fine until I come to a stop again

I assume you don’t have a check engine light? First thing I’d do is check if there are any codes. Here’s a link with info on how. https://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/s...php?tid/273660
if there are codes, follow the trail on that code to fix it. If you can’t figure out how - post question with code and people will help if they have ideas, experience on that particular code/problem.

If no check engine lights or codes, then I would check the basics - fuel pressure and timing. Here’s a link with good info on how https://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/s...php?tid/253427

good luck!

You may have a bad IAC (idle air control). Try eliminating any vacuum leaks (I'd torque the intake manifold bolts down to spec. ) and cleaning the throttle body first. Have someone or a device to hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carburetor cleaner, engine off of course. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC. I'd also change out the fuel filter too.
