Default Need help, loud thud while driving now will crank but not start

I have a 1988 k1500 that has a 5.7 350 tbi in it. recently had it tuned up and was running rough they addvaced the timing before I left. Engine was bogging down and ot having much power even after that. The other day I was Driving and suddenly heard and felt a large thud from the engine bay and lost all power. Got out to make sure we didnt hit anything. Then crank but no start. will crank all day but wont start...... Any ide whats going on. vacuum lines dizzy ect? I took the cap of today and the rotor is fine not broken. checked best ii could. When i checked the oil it was near empty but there was not any on the road where it failed..

Before any thing is done, need to verify spark and fuel are available. If they are good, then a compression test would come next. Depending on what is found will determine where you go next. Those are the basics and always need to be confirmed before jumping to conclusions.

Does the rotor turn when cranking? If it does not then it is the timing chain.

As in there was no oil on the dipstick, or you pulled the drain plug and hardly any oil drained out?

There might not be any oil on the ground where it failed, but was the underside of the front of the truck covered in oil?
