Default New tail light pins loose

Hello all. I purchased 2 new tail light connector plates for a 92 Silverado. The problem I'm having is the pins on the new connector plates are not exactactly the same as the original tail light, so it is making a bad connection causing all sorts of problems. If I try to bend the pins a little to provide some tension they will break inside the plastic of new plate and not work at all, intermittent, etc. I purchased 2 new plates
from Amazon and 1 from oriellys with similar problems. Does any one have a remedy or recommdation for better plates that are exact fit. Thanks, Kai.

Are we talking about the pins that connect the tail light to the vehicle wiring harness here, or the pins inside it that mate with the light bulbs?

I bought new taillights (complete thing) off Amazon a few years ago along with headlights for my 1996 C1500, and have had no issue to-date with them. The headlights needed to go as they were so hazy you could barely see to drive at night. The tail lights were pretty clouded over and dull as well. I've not had trouble with either set of lights.

Yes, the pins that connect to the vehicle harness. They are not speced properly so don't make good contact or are so brittle that they break contact inside the plastic plate.

You know, that set of tail lights I bought came with the vehicle side of the wiring harness, and I kinda set it aside and didn't use it, and eventually tossed it. I am thinking they supplied it in case of the issue you are having.

You can probably buy JUST the vehicle side of the tail light wiring harness, with some splice connectors, and replace the connector on the vehicle if needed. Rockauto would likely carry those.

Here is a list of tail lamp connectors:

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...onnector,10837

And the plates we are talking about:

My advice would be to replace both with the same brand if possible.
