Sounds like your best bet is going to be a salvage yard. Preferably one in the south, where rust from road salt will be less of an issue...

Another thought is... do you know anyone that welds? Maybe they can fix it by welding a reinforcing plate along the rusted area?

 

Yeah, a mechanic down the road mentioned that very idea. May have to have that done temporarily until i can find one or preferably a good pair.
