Default Replace Rag Joint?

There is a lot of play in the steering wheel of my 90 Chevy C1500 (5.7). I believe it to simply be the rag joint or steering coupler that has worn out. In some other forums, I saw that you can't replace the coupler in the steering shaft of the 1990 Chevy C1500. Is that true? Can I simply buy a new coupler and replace the stock one? Or do I need to buy the entire shaft assembly?

Also, if I wanted to get away from the bushing/coupler and use a U-joint swivel connector... what would be a good steering shaft?

Thanks all,
Dave

Thank you! So I assume then that they CAN be replaced... cool. Thanks again, I'll order that today.
